On Thursday April 20, 2017, at approximately 8:12 pm members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Chapleau Detachment along with the assistance of members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) members of the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) members of the Provincial Operation Intelligence Bureau (POIB) and Canine Unit executed a drug search warrant at a Chapleau residence.

As a result the following drugs were seized:

  • 199 Oxycodone (Percocet) tablets
  • 45 Naloxone pills
  • 83 Hydromorphone pills (3mg and 18mg)
  • 2.8 grams cannabis
  • 1 methamphetamine (speed) pill

Total street value estimated at approximately $3333.00.

As a result Shane Michel BERGERON (25) of Chapleau Ontario was charged with the following offences:

  • Adult Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-(Oxycodone) contrary to section 5(2) of the Control Drug and Substance Act,
  • Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking- (Hydromorphone) contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA,
  • Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking- (Naloxone) contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA,
  • Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Methamphetamine contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA,
  • Adult Possession of a Schedule II substance- Cannabis Marihuana under 30grams contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA.

Kayla CHAPMAN (21) of Chapleau Ontario was charged with the following offences:

  • Adult Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- (Oxycodone) contrary to section 5(2) of the Control Drug and Substance Act,
  • Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking- (Hydromorphone) contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA,
  • Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking- (Naloxone) contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA,
  • Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA,
  • Adult Possession Schedule II Substance- Cannabis under 30grams contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA,
  • Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance- (Hydromorphone) contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA,
  • Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance- (Oxycodone) contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA,

Robert Daniel TANGIE (41) of Chapleau Ontario was charged with the following offences:

  • Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Methamphetamine contrary to section 4(1) of the Control Drug and Substance Act;
  • Adult Possession of a Schedule II substance- Cannabis Marihuana under 30grams contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA,
  • Adult Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- (Oxycodone ) contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA,
  • Adult Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking (Hydromorphone ) contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA,
  • Adult Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking (Naloxone ) contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA,
  • Adult Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000- in Canada contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

Jamie-Lee Florence BARBEIRO (28) of Chapleau Ontario was charged with the following offences;

  • Adult Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- (Oxycodone) contrary to section 5(2) of the Control Drug and Substance Act,
  • Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking- (Hydromorphone) contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA,
  • Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking- (Naloxone) contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA,
  • Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Methamphetamine contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA,
  • Adult Possession of a Schedule II substance- Cannabis Marihuana- under 30 grams contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA.

Bergeron was held into custody for a Bail Hearing in Timmins Ontario, all other accused were released on a Promise to Appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Chapleau Ontario on June 21, 2017.
