A massive drop in the price of an old gas station in Timmins.

The city is looking to sell off the property on the corner of Cameron and Wilson. But after a couple failed attempts due to lack of interest, they have reduced the price from $20,000 to $1,000.

The city wants to get it off the financial books, as they have not been able to collect tax revenue off the property.

Councillor Pat Bamford says it’s a tough sell due to environmental concerns, which will result in high costs for the eventual owner.

On Tuesday, city council approved a write off of over $25,000 in uncollected taxes in order to re-tender the property with a new price.
