Timmins Police say a 36-year old individual is facing a slew of charges after a series of events Saturday and extending into Sunday.

It involves involved two stolen vehicles, trespassing, an assault, a break and enter and the use of a taser.

Police say they received a report of a break-and-enter sometime Saturday at a Timmins home, where several items were taken—including the victim’s vehicle.

Around 7pm Saturday night, police say they got another report of a stolen vehicle. When police arrived at the scene, they found the original stolen vehicle, which was switched for the newly reported stolen vehicle.

Then at 11:15pm, police say a report came in about an individual entering a residence on Government Road.

“The suspect left the residence when confronted by the homeowner and was determined to be barricaded inside a structure on the property,” they add.

With the help of the Emergency Response Team, officers were able to conduct a high-risk arrest and brought Kavin Justin Singer-Mckenzie into custody.

The next day, police say Singer-Mckenzie became aggressive and confrontational with them and the use of a taser was needed to gain control of the suspect.

Police add neither of the stolen vehicles sustained any damage and are back in the possession of their rightful owners.

And no injuries were sustained as a result of the incidents.

Singer-Mckenzie faces nine charges, including two counts each of Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Property over $5,000 and Possession of Property under $5,000 and one count each of Break & Enter and Commit an Indictable Offense, Trespass by Night and Assault a Peace Officer.

A bail hearing was scheduled for today, but the results of it are not known.
