The evening includes awards for the Student who Make a Difference and anti-discrimination artwork contest, the induction to the City of Timmins Human Rights Wall of Fame, entertainment from our local schools as well as special performances from our cultural groups.

It will be the culmination of months of awareness raising and the promotion of acceptance in schools and in the broader community. The event is free and all are invited to attend. It all takes place in the O’Gorman High School Sylvia Gravel Theatre.

The event is in conjunction with the United Nation’s International Day for the Elimination for Racial Discrimination (IDERD) which takes place around the world on March 21 each year.

This will be the fourth year for this project to be celebrated in Timmins. The project aims to recognize those who have demonstrated leadership in human rights or anti-discrimination activities locally, regionally, nationally or internationally.
