Four names have been released by the Timmins Police service in relation to the burned vehicle and bodies found on Friday, April 20th on Price Road in Timmins.

The police are asking for any information about the activity and whereabouts leading up to Friday April 20th of the following people:

  • Joey Gagnon, age 37, of Timmins
  • Tamm Gagnon (Robitaille), age 34 of Timmins
  • Cole Gagnon, age 16 of Timmins
  • Brandy Gagnon, age 14 of Timmins

It’s been confirmed that these are all members of one family, but police will not confirm at this time if these are the names of the deceased found on Friday. Police are awaiting positive identification from forensics in Toronto.

A correction from earlier reports on this case: four bodies were found with a burned vehicle last Friday; three bodies were found inside and one body was outside the vehicle (earlier reports indicated that all four bodies were inside the vehicle).

Timmins Police are asking the public for any information about the Gagnon family and their recent whereabouts. Staff Sergeant Danny Charest told media: “We are interested in anything anyone has to say about these four people.”

Police are also still seeking assistance in locating a blue or green 2004 Chevy Intrepid, which is believed to be linked to the crime.

Some more information shared from a press conference held in Timmins earlier today:

  • Police were alerted to the fire by passers-by. When they arrived at the scene the fire was no longer burning
  • The vehicle found burned at the scene was registered to one member of the Gagnon family
  • The four members of the Gagnon family named above have been unaccounted for since the time police became aware of the incident on Friday
  • Police still believe this is an isolated incident concerning those involved with the case currently
  • The nature of the fire that burned the vehicle is suspicious, but police cannot comment further on the caused of the fire
  • Police cannot confirm if this was a result of organized crime or a domestic incident, but police say there is no reason to suspect that this is the result of organized crime
  • Price Road, where the car and bodies were found is in a remote area but is still frequented by residents of Timmins on a daily basis
  • The vehicle was found adjacent to the road, not on Price Road itself

Police cannot confirm any links between the four members of the Gagnon family and the four bodies found at the scene at this time. Again, they are waiting for the results of a forensic investigation taking place in Toronto.

The scene of the crime on Price Road has now been released from the Timmins Police Service.

Anyone with any information about the Gagnon family or a blue or green 2004 Chevy intrepid, last seen near the scene of the crime, should contact Timmins Police or Crime Stoppers at 705-268-8477.
