The Timmins Police Service would like to advise residents and local businesses that the bills in question are fraudulent $100 American bills.

Security features on the seized bills, such as holographic strips, are of poor quality, which is a sign that bills are fraudulent.

Retailers are reminded to take extra measures to verify the legitimacy of bills. Some methods for determining the legitimacy of bills include verifying the texture of bills produced, inspecting printing quality, and comparing to other bills of the same denomination.
