Marihuana plantsJPGOn April 15, 2015, a traffic stop was conducted by Timmins Police officers on a vehicle traveling in the area of Highway 101 East.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately 5000 Methamphetamine tablets, along with a quantity of Marihuana and Ecstasy tablets.

As a result of the drug seizure, Steve LEVESQUE, 27, and Kevin CRONIER, 24, both of Timmins were charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a Schedule I substance and possession of a Schedule II substance.

Police later executed a search warrant at a local residence where officers seized 21 Cannabis-Marihuana plants, along with a quantity of Methamphetamine tablets, Percocet tablets, and an improperly stored firearm.

Kevin Cronier was further charged with production of a Schedule II substance, possession of a Schedule II substance, and possession of a Schedule I substance, along with careless storage of a firearm, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

The total estimated street value of all items seized is approximately $71,000.

Both individuals were held for a bail hearing.
