st jean baptiste day

Marking the 400th year Francophones came to Ontario, Le Centre Culturel Laronde is putting on a Saturday spectacular for St. Jean Baptiste Day.

Executive Director, Daniel Ouellette says they’re making it a full day event for adults and kids.

“This Saturday at Participark is basically our family day.  It starts at 11 a.m. with a mass then we have lots of events and shows for the whole family.”

“We have regional acts as well, like John Lemieux & Estelle Deschamp, local acts, inflatables, laser tag, and a group from Sudbury called En Bref at 5 p.m.”

Ouellette adds, once the day is through, the party moves over the L’Armise for more music from the group Mega.

“It’s a great day for everyone to celebrate the francophone culture and it’s all free to attend.  You don’t need to be a francophone to come out and enjoy a nice day.”
