Ewan_McGregor_Cannes_2012Ewan McGregor has confirmed that the long-awaited sequel to Trainspotting will begin filming in May. “The script only arrived very recently, which was really, really, really good,“ McGregor tells Collider. “I think, if that had not happened, none of us would be into it. I think we’re all sort of somewhat protective of what Trainspotting means to people, and what it means to us.“ The film will once again be directed by Danny Boyle and reunite the original cast of McGregor, Jonny Lee Miller, Ewen Bremner and Robert Carlyle. The sequel will be based on author Irvin Welsh’s 2002 novel Porno, which finds characters Renton, Begbie, Sick Boy, and Spud finding new ways to get their drug fix.
