Before any project can get into a construction phase, you need detailed design work.

And for the city, that design work for the next several years of Connecting Link construction will cost them around $4.4-million dollars.

The work—to be assigned to AECOM pending full council approval—will target Algonquin Boulevard from the Mattagami Bridge, all the way to the Father Costello Drive turn off in Schumacher.

That’s coverage of 4.3 km.

While the decision on anything Connecting Link-related to be academic, Director of Public Works Luc Duval says any construction phase will be subject to approval and will be voted on each year.

AECOM was the cheaper of two bids submitted.

City council will look to fully approve this contract bid this coming Monday.
