A couple key items from last week will be back at Timmins city council tonight.

First, the Aquatic Centre will be back as Mayor Steve Black looks for support to move forward with construction if there is funding available.

At last week’s budget meeting, Black and Ward 5 councillor Rick Dubeau got into a heated debate over a $1-million dollar addition to the Community Services budget to go towards future spending on the proposed facility.

Also on the agenda is a vote to award AECOM the contract to design sections of the Connecting Link that are scheduled for construction from 2018 to 2024.  The contract is worth $4.4-million dollars and is to cover designs for Algonquin between the Mattagami Bridge and the Father Costello Drive turn off near Schumacher.

Another item that could draw ample discussion is funding requests.  There are four different donation requests on the docket.

And after all that, tonight’s the night council looks to approve an Integrity Commissioner.

It all gets underway at 6:00pm.
