Ever wondered what it would be like to be a police officer for a day? What about the Police Chief for a day?

Local students now have their chance, with the annual Chief for a Day contest.

The Timmins Police Service is now accepting written submissions from students in Grades 4-6. Entrants must answer the question “What do you think of when you hear the words ‘police officer’ and why?” Entries should not exceed one page in length, and can be submitted in either English or French.

Deadline for entries is Wednesday, May 10, with the Chief for a Day visit taking place during Police Week, from May 14-20.

Entries may be submitted via email to kate.cantin@timmins.ca, or mailed to the attention of Kate Cantin, Corporate Communications Coordinator, Timmins Police Service, 185 Spruce St. S., Timmins, ON, P4N 2M7. Entries can also be hand-delivered to the Timmins Police Services building during regular office hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.).

Good luck to all participating students!
