World class performers, sold out 50/50 ticket sales, multi-hour waits for food.

It’s safe to say Timmins has never seen anything like we saw at Hollinger Park on Canada Day. But we don’t need to tell you that because odds are, you were either in the park or around the area in general at some point in the day.

There were plenty of special moments.

Johnny Reid giving his patriotic red jacket to a young resident. Keith Urban bringing a Domino’s employee and his mother on stage—those same people slept in line at the entrance after Friday night’s festivities—and getting a rare selfie. Someone also walked away $50,000 richer with the 50/50 draw.

There were a few complaints in regards to the long food lineups—some waited as long as two hours to order—and the now-infamous sitting vs. standing debate (#ChairGate).

But overall, the estimated 25,000 people at the park looked to be having a great time for a special Canada Day.
