OPP near Earlton are investigating a fatal collision that happened on Highway 11 Monday evening.

They say the collision happened when “a southbound car entered the northbound lane where it collided with an oncoming van.”

The collision resulted in the highway being closed for some time. It opened around 4:45am Tuesday morning.

50-year old Richard Hobson of Armstrong Township—the driver of the van—was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the car, a 17-year old Timmins girl, suffered minor injuries.
