A controversial intersection is about to get a much-anticipated item added.

Temporary traffic lights are being installed at the Airport Road-Westmount intersection Thursday, an area many residents have voiced concerns over for lack of safety for drivers and pedestrians.

As a result of the installation, Airport Road will be closed Thursday from 7:00am to around 5:00pm between College and Lamminen.

The city says the closure will be done in two parts—College to Westmount and Westmount to Lamminen.
