The Market Dollar Voucher Program will be open all summer and until the end of the farmers market season in October 2017. Market Dollar Vouchers are available for purchase by any individual, organization, or business, to give them as a gift, use them for themselves, or donate them to residents who would not typically shop at a farmers market. Those interested in purchasing Vouchers are encouraged to contact the Farm to Fork committee at kaylee@cdspc.org.

The Market Dollar Vouchers are equivalent to a monetary value of three dollars and are redeemable with participating food & produce vendors at the Mountjoy Independent Farmers’ Market and the Urban Park Market during the 2017 season. Food & produce vendors will be asked to participate in program during vendor registrations and will receive same-day monetary redemption for the vouchers received.

New this year, the committee will be promoting the “Feed it Forward” Campaign. Local food enthusiasts can purchase a $15 bundle of vouchers – $12 of which they can enjoy themselves, while $3 is automatically donated to the local Food Bank. There are three ways to purchase the bundles: online, at the Urban Park or calling the BIA office.

The Farm to Fork committee members hope to make an impact in the community by increasing the accessibility of local healthy food. Through the program, the committee hopes to encourage new faces to visit the community’s two farmers markets and purchase goods from local vendors.
