A new online catalogue is now available for the Timmins Public Library.

In a release, library officials state this “engaging and mobile friendly site” is designed to “enhance patrons’ browsing and borrowing experience.”

“It offers a single, clean interface and a dynamic search of the Library’s extensive collection of over 100,000 items,” they add, “Like the old catalogue, Library patrons can place and manage their holds, renew materials and review due dates of checked out item with their existing library card number and PIN.”

The biggest change promotes the ability to search library collections—both print and digital—in one interface.

For digital readers, members already have access to over 60,000 eBooks and 13,000 eAudio books, which saw over 9,700 downloads in 2016 alone.

“(It) comprised of 10% of our total annual circulation,” says CEO Carole-Ann Churcher.

“Patrons will now be able to search, checkout, and download eBooks straight from the online catalogue to their device or computer. Digital checkouts will appear under their account, along with their physical checkouts.”

The search option limits are also visible on the left of the results page, they add.

The library in Timmins—and the Bloor Avenue location in South Porcupine—invite you to check them out and ask about their services, or you can head online.
