Very little is known about the restoration time and cause for downed Internet, phone and cable services in the Timmins region.

Sources say fibre op Internet services are down—including at the Rogers Radio Timmins location—and the cause of the issue is being investigated.

Some Timmins residents are reporting issues accessing their phone and cable services too.

Reports over social media and to our station suggest it is due to a cut cable.

It’s unknown if this is the same thing causing outages across a large part of Atlantic Canada.

A Bell media relations representative doesn’t believe that to be the case, but is looking into the issue.

We’ll have more on this story as we get it.
