A multi-vehicle collision caused major delays in the construction zone between Timmins and South Porcupine Thursday morning.

“Initial investigation has determined that three vehicles were traveling eastbound in the curb lane at the time of the collision,” Timmins Police say in a release, “As the vehicles entered into the construction zone, the leading vehicle and second vehicle caused their vehicles to decelerate when the second vehicle was severely impacted from the rear by the third, or trailing vehicle.”

“This collision then caused the second vehicle to impact with the leading vehicle.”

One of the drivers was sent to Timmins hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 31-year old South Porcupine resident was charged with Careless Driving after being found at fault.

Police would like to remind residents to be vigilant at all times, and to be extra cognizant when entering construction zones.
