It looks like a large patch of land on Algonquin Boulevard is finally being developed into something.

Documents on the city council agenda for Tuesday night indicate that the vacant land south of Western Auto Sales will be turning into a Mac’s Convenience Store, complete with a gas bar.

Much of the land is owned by AML Holdings Inc, owned by well-known developer JP Legault.

Other parts of the land were owned by the MRCA.

The land was historically residential homes and a taxi cab station over the years, but the area slowly dwindled and infrastructure was sold off.

Legault’s company has been developing the land for a new use over the last couple years.

The work itself is anticipated to cost just under $225,000.

It will be up for full council approval Tuesday.
