Hold off your plans to purchase the gas station property on Wilson Avenue for now.

The city is clarifying that the now $1,000 property is not yet for sale, after getting approved for a tax write-off at the most recent city council meeting.

The tender will appear on the city’s website in September when it is available for sale.

They’re also looking to clarify that they have never owned the property itself.

In a release, they add “under the Municipal Act, the City of Timmins is allowed to sell properties through the Tax Arrears Sale Process prior to taking ownership of a property.”

The station has been a tough sell to prospective owners due to environmental concerns.
