A 41-year old Timmins man is facing weapons-related charges after a traffic stop.

Police say after midnight on September 1st, Terry Vaillancourt was pulled over after being recognized as a suspended driver. Once pulled over, city police not only discovered he was wanted by OPP, but they also found prohibited weapons in the vehicle.

Police say he was bound by a prohibition order not to possess weapons or ammo.

Police also nabbed a quantity of unspecified Schedule II controlled substance.

Vaillancourt was charged with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon while prohibited to do so, Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition, and Possession of a Schedule II Substance.

He was released on a Promise to Appear, and has a court date scheduled for October 10th.
