EACOM’s sawmill in Timmins has a new upgrade, one that will take it’s annual capacity to new heights.

EACOM Timber Corporation states in a release they have completed installation of a Continuous Dry Kiln, designed to accelerate the wood drying process by continuously cycling lumber through the kiln with significant energy efficiency gains.

According to the release, this tech upgrade will increase the mill’s annual capacity to 160 million board feet.

“EACOM has been consistent in its strategy of growth and continuous improvement. This investment demonstrates our commitment to the Timmins sawmill,” said Kevin Edgson, President and CEO of EACOM.

In the release, EACOM adds they rebuilt the mill with 20 per cent more capacity and state-of-the-art technology following the 2012 fire.

More enhancements then came in 2015 and 2016, and Edgson adds the company will continue to make investments that “contribute to the Company’s performance and resilience.”
