A Lupin, Quebec man is facing 11 charges after a traffic stop east of South Porcupine.

Originally, police say they caught the vehicle going in excess of 50km over the posted 80km/h speed limit east of Matheson. OPP say the driver attempted to evade police, but was later found east of South Porcupine.

49-year old Robert Proulx is now facing numerous drug, traffic and weapons charges:

  • Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule III Substance – psilocybin
  • Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon at an Unauthorized Place
  • 2 counts – Drive While Suspended
  • 2 counts – Race a Motor Vehicle – Excessive Speed
  • Fail to Have Insurance Card

He was released after a bail hearing, and has a court date in Timmins set for September 26th.
