2017 marked a season of change in Timmins Men’s Baseball League.

A new field due to remediation efforts at Hollinger Park. And at the end of the year, a new team has emerged with the championship trophy.

The Servicemaster Orioles defeated the Timmins Whiskey Jacks 6-3 Monday night to take the best-of-5 TMBL Final in four games and win the title for the first time in their history.

By the same token, it also put an end to an unprecedented streak for the Whiskey Jacks, who came into the year with 15 straight TMBL Championships.

It looked as if this final would spell a repeat of past times when the Jacks scored a narrow 3-2 win in Game 1 of the Final back on Monday, September 4th.

But it just wasn’t their year. The Orioles nabbed consecutive victories—13-3 in Game 2 Wednesday, 10-0 in Game 3 Thursday—and finished it off to begin the new week.
