Four teens from Cochrane are facing charges after a number of break ins and thefts in the area.

OPP say since June 1st, there were 28 thefts and 19 break and enters reported to them, with a slew of items taken from homes, cars, garages and businesses.

These items include electronics, bicycles, fuel, lawn ornaments, tools, Canadian currency as well as personal property.

OPP note several areas were targeted, but the majority of these incidents happened between 3rd and 8th Streets and 11th and 18th Avenues.

Police executed two search warrants Thursday.

A 19-year old unnamed man and a 16-year old boy were each arrested and charged with:

  • Seven counts of Break and Enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence
  • One count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • One count of Theft Under $5,000 from Motor Vehicle

Both of them were held in custody, pending a bail hearing.

Meanwhile, a 17-year old boy and 15-year old girl were both arrested in the case.

The 17-year old faces a single charge of Break and Enter dwelling house, while the 15-year old was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.

These two were released on a Promise to Appear, with both set to appear in a Cochrane courtroom October 17th.

The crimes are still under investigation.
