ORIGINAL STORY
A 44-year old from New Liskeard has been pronounced dead after a collision.

OPP say it happened on Highway 11—north of Highway 562 and south of Earlton—and involved a northbound tractor-trailer and a southbound flatbed truck.

The driver of the flatbed truck, Remi Breault, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver sustained minor injuries.

OPP say Highway 11 is closed at Earlton between Highways 562 and 571 and re-opening time is unknown.

If you need detours though, OPP say if you are northbound on Highway 11, take Highway 562 west at Thornloe then Highway 571 north to Earlton. If headed south, take Highway 571 south at Earlton to Highway 562 east to Thornloe.

Meantime, there’s another collision on Highway 144 that has closed the road from the Highway 101 turnoff to Gogama.

No word on injuries there or when the highway will re-open.

Stay tuned for developments on both these closures.
