***TIMMINS POLICE NEWS RELEASE***


On March 17, 2018 at approximately 9 p.m., police received a report of a possible impaired driver in the Schumacher area of Timmins. Police located the vehicle in question and conducted a traffic stop.

Upon speaking to the driver, police noted signs of impairment. Following an investigation, Jonathan COR, 33, of Timmins faces charges of:
• Impaired driving
• Driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood
• Driving while using a handheld communication device (HighwayTraffic Act)
Cor was released on a Promise to Appear in court with an upcoming court date of April 3, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins.
Of note is that the report of the suspected impaired driver came from a resident who was concerned for the safety of other drivers on the road and called police. The public is reminded that impaired driving is a dangerous criminal offence which can affect the entire community. Anyone suspecting an impaired driver is asked to contact police by calling 9-1-1.
