**TEMISKAMING OPP NEWS RELEASE**


On November 7, 2018 shortly after 2:30 p.m. a member of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call for a westbound traffic complaint on Highway 65 East, Harris Township, Ontario.

Police located the motor vehicle a short time after, in Dymond Township, off Highway 11 in the City of Temiskaming Shores, Ontario. The vehicle was stopped and the driver is facing charges. 

The 24-year-old driver, Kevin BARIL, of Val-d’Or, Quebec is charged with:

 

  • Race a motor vehicle – stunt, contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

 

His driver’s licence was seized and the vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for seven days. The driver was released by way of summons. He is scheduled to appear at court on February 14, 2019, in Haileybury, Ontario.
