**COCHRANE CLASSIC VINTAGE RIDERS CLUB AND MUSEUM**

Cochrane has some of the best snowmobile trails in all of Ontario and the 10th Annual Tom Saul Memorial Vintage Snowmobile Ride 2019 will not disappoint!

Each year the Cochrane Classic Vintage Riders honour Tom Saul, one of the six founding members of the club and the snowmobile museum.

Quote

“This year marks the 10th Annual Tom Saul Memorial ride. Tom lost his 13-year battle to cancer in 2010, shortly after our first vintage snowmobile ride. Since then, our Annual Ride has been dedicated to raising funds for the local Hospital cancer unit as a way for us to honour and remember our close and dear friend Tom. It is a small gesture but it helps provide some comfort and patient care for those undergoing cancer treatments.”

Dan Girard, Executive member of the club

Quick Facts

  • Over 110 riders at the run last year, from all over Northern Ontario, helped raised $9,300 that was donated to the local Hospital’s Cancer unit.
  • With the previous year’s donations, the hospital purchased a special medical chair so patients can sit more comfortably during the hours-long chemo therapy treatments.
  • In the last nine years, the club has donated close to $30,000 to the cancer unit. This funding, along with other contributions, has enabled the Unit to provide chemo services not just to patients from Cochrane but also to patients from a number of surrounding communities.
