**TEMISKAMING OPP NEWS RELEASE**


On March 16, 2019 shortly after 11:30 p.m., members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a motor vehicle for a traffic infraction, at Rorke Avenue and Main Street, in the City of Temiskaming Shores, Ontario. Further investigation revealed that the male driver had been consuming alcohol.

Madison BOLTON, 21-years-old, of Temiskaming Shores, Ontario is arrested and charged with the following: 

 

  • Adult operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC), 

 

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand, contrary to section 320.15(1), of the CC,

 

  • Race a motor vehicle – Stunt, contrary to section 172(1), of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA),
  • Novice Driver – Blood alcohol level (B.A.C.) above zero, contrary to section 44.1(3), of the HTA,

 

  • Driver fail to surrender licence, contrary to section 33(1), of the HTA,
  • Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle, contrary to section 7(5)(a), of the HTA,

 

  • Fail to notify change of address – licence, contrary to section 33(1) of the Ontario Regulations (O’Reg.) 340/94, of the HTA, and

 

  • Fail to surrender insurance card, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA).

 

The vehicle was towed from the scene, and impounded. The accused was released by way of Promise to Appear (PTA). He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on April 2, 2019, in Haileybury, Ontario.
