The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man stemming from a disturbance which occurred early this morning at a Mountjoy area apartment building in Timmins.

Once on the scene, responding Timmins Police Service officers were confronted by a combative individual who allegedly refused to leave the building as directed by the police.

At this point, the suspect, who is not a tenant of the building, is alleged to have become verbally and physically assaultive towards the officers and the building’s property manager.

The subject of the complaint was eventually arrested and taken into police custody.

As a result of the incident, Adam PORTER, 40, of no fixed address (Timmins), has been charged with:
– Fail to Leave Premises when Directed contrary to the Trespass To Property Act
– Causing a Disturbance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Resist Peace Officer contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody and is currently awaiting a bail hearing set for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
