The Timmins Police Service has taken possession of two new ATV’s to better respond to calls for service in remote areas within the city of Timmins.

These newly acquired multi-purpose vehicles will better afford the Timmins Police Service the ability to aptly respond and render immediate investigative and public safety assistance with, but not limited to, the following:

– ATV collisions in remote locations
– clandestine drug investigations
– stolen property investigations
– locating missing persons
– remote evidentiary searches
– general patrol of area recreational trails
– Emergency Response Team (ERT) related calls for service
– crowd control situations

These vehicles are seen as an investment in public safety and investigative efficiency.

Modern police investigations call for the ability to readily respond at a moment’s notice.

These vehicles will better allow for Timmins Police Service officers to meet the demands of such situations in a competent and proficient manner.
