**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**

In keeping with National Public Safety Tele-Communicators Week, which runs from April 14 to the 20th, the Timmins Police Service is acknowledging the continuous efforts of the fine men and women who provide vital telecommunications services to first-responders in the Timmins area.

These highly trained professionals are, quite often, the first point of contact between persons in need of immediate assistance and law enforcement personnel, paramedic services or firefighter response.
On a 24-7 basis, these dedicated people collect and convey vital information that assists in coordinated responses from emergency service first-responder personnel.

They do so in a dispassionate and composed manner so that the needs of persons in dire need of assistance, regardless of the nature of the call, are addressed in a fashion that serves the best interests of public safety.
Collectively, they work as a team, quite often under stressful and time-sensitive conditions, so that emergency services personnel attend to calls for service with the most current relevant information available.

The public is well served by these “behind the scenes” dispatchers and call takers who serve their community in a steadfast and proficient manner.

Cheers to these fine individuals who routinely manage information and resources so that those in need are taken care of with sensitivity and professionalism.
