**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man stemming from a dispute which took place during the early evening hours of Saturday, May 11th, at an Algonquin Blvd coffee shop in Timmins.
The responding Timmins Police Service officers completed their investigation which indicates that a male suspect attended at the coffee shop and is alleged to have become assaultive towards one of the patrons of the restaurant.
The victim sustained injuries that required medical treatment at the Timmins and District Hospital.

The suspect was identified, located and arrested by the Timmins Police Service as short while later not far from the location of the original event.
During the interaction with the Timmins Police Service, the accused is further alleged to have provided a false name to the investigating officers.

As a result of this incident, Presley SPENCE, 37, of Timmins, has been charged with:
– Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Assault with a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Personation With Intent contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– 3 counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
