**TIMMINS POLICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service is once again taking on an active and enthusiastic role behind this year’s DARE Leadership Camp.
This is an annual endeavor focused on empowering local youth with a comprehensive series of workshops that help build character and solidify solid citizenry with local youth.
Students from all local high schools are invited to attend the DARE Leadership camp.
Those selected to attend stand to benefit from the experience in ways that cannot be measured in terms of mentoring opportunities and decision making skills.
The Grand Opening ceremonies for this year’s camp will take place at Camp Bickell on Friday, May 31st, at 1:00 p.m. where the media and the general public is invited to attend.
Among the local dignitaries attending the Grand Opening ceremonies at Camp Bickell will be Timmins Police Chief John Gauthier and Deputy Chief Henry Dacosta alongside other local dignitaries and guest speakers.

 

May 31st (Friday)
9 am – Departure from Sportsplex / Whitney
10 am – Arrival
11 am – Registration for students
12 pm – Lunch
1 pm – Opening ceremonies with Chief Gauthier, Deputy Chief Dacosta, Cam Whalen and Mayor Pirie
2 pm – Michelle Goulet and Ice Breakers
5 pm – Dinner
6 pm – 7 pm – Brock McGillis (Hockey Player)
8 pm – Camp Fire / Karaoke

June 1st (Saturday)
8 am – Breakfast
9 am – Mario Kart Tournament / Basketball / Volleyball / Soccer / Frisbee
12 pm – Lunch
1 pm – Retro Bill (Motivational Speaker)
3 pm – Bubble suit soccer
5 pm – Dinner
7 pm –Mario Kart Tournament finals
8 pm – Dance (Neon theme)

June 2nd (Sunday)
9 pm – Breakfast
10 am – Kate Durst (Presentation and workout)
