**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service has arrested a local man stemming from an assaultive incident at a Mount-joy Street North residence which is alleged to have occurred during the early morning hours of Saturday, June 29th.
Responding Timmins Police Service officers completed a comprehensive investigation into the incident where a 15 year old person had been assaulted by the suspect and is further alleged to have caused damage to the victim’s residence during the altercation.

Based on the investigation, the identity of the suspect was determined.
The suspect was located and arrested a short while later by the Timmins Police Service.
As a result of this incident, Desmond SPENCE, 26, of Timmins, was taken into custody and is charged with
– Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Mischief Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Resist Peace Officer contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
