**COLLEGE BOREAL NEWS RELEASE**

Collège Boréal is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Mélanie Dufresne as the new director of its Timmins campus.
Mélanie Dufresne has worked at Collège Boréal since 2009. In her previous position as manager of post-secondary programs, she was responsible for academic management of programs and services offered in Timmins.
Previously, she worked as a regional communications planner for northeastern Ontario in the Ministry of Natural Resources.

Ms. Mélanie Dufresne will begin in new duties on Monday, August 26, 2019.
Committed to the Francophone community and to international development
A native of northern Ontario, Ms. Dufresne has extensive international experience. She has lived in Chile and Germany and speaks fluent French, English, Spanish and German.

After graduating from Carleton University with a degree in international business, she moved to Timmins in 2003 and quickly became actively involved in the community. Her first collaboration with Collège Boréal came that same year with the Naturallia Forum.

In 2018, she launched Collège Boréal’s first humanitarian project, successfully coordinating a group of students and staff members for a mission in Guatemala that year, and again in 2019.
In her new duties, Mélanie Dufresne will be responsible for supervising the management and development of the Timmins campus’ services in the areas of post-secondary education, apprenticeships, continuing education, academic upgrading, immigration, employment services, customized training and various administrative services. She will play an active role in the ongoing development of Collège Boréal’s relationship with local partners in Timmins.

Ms. Dufresne succeeds Mr. Jean-Pierre Nadon, who is leaving Collège Boréal after seven years as the director of its Timmins campus. Collège Boréal thanks Mr. Nadon for his many years of service and wishes him a happy retirement.
