The Timmins Rock are set to finish a three game road swing on Thursday November 14; That game will be against the Hearst Lumberjacks.

The two points up for grabs are huge for both teams, since the Lumberjacks are three points back of the Rock in the standings, and the Rock would love to turn that into a five point gap.

The Rock put up a dominant performance in Kirkland Lake on Saturday November 9 against the Gold Miners. They pulled off a 4-0 win, out-shot them 62-15, and Vance Meyer picked up his third shutout of the season.

In that game, all four goals were scored by different players. One of those goal scorers happened to be Phil Caron, and that was his first as a Timmins Rock. The other three goals came from Tyler Gilberds, Zach Smith, and Derek Seguin.

Kyle McNair was in net for the Gold Miners, and he is known to be a brick wall when he faces the Rock. The last time McNair faced the Rock (SEPT 14 2019), he stopped 47 of the 50 shots he faced, and forced the game to go to a shootout. The Rock did come up with the 3-2 win, but that didn’t overshadow his performance. Saturday’s game was no different… McNair was on fire! But, as a goalie when you face that many shots, you can only stop so many before some start to find their way into the back of the net. That’s exactly what happened; The Rock went on to score three goals in the third period, and one of them was while the Gold Miners were on the power play.

The Rock have shown dominance in their last three games and will look to do the same on Thursday November 14 at the Claude Larose Arena when they take on the Hearst Lumberjacks. The Rock are looking for their third consecutive road win, and are looking to extend their winning streak to six games. It won’t be easy as the Lumberjacks are always a tough team to face, but the way the Rock are playing right now, they will be a tough task for the Lumberjacks.

After Thursday’s game, the Rock will be back on home ice and will welcome the Blind River Beavers to the Mac along with Maple Leafs Legend Curtis Joseph. Tickets for the home game on Sunday November 17 can be purchased online at TimminsRock.Com
