**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with theft related offences stemming from an incident that occurred during the afternoon hours of Friday, November 15th where allegedly stolen items were located in his possession.

Responding to a call for service concerning a suspicious person, Timmins Police service officers located a male subject matching the description given in a Cedar Street south retail store.

The man was interviewed by the officers and it was determined that he is currently wanted on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by the Provincial Court in Timmins.

The man was arrested and found to be in possession of items allegedly stolen from a parked vehicle some time ago in Timmins.

As a result of the incident, Jeffery SUTHERLAND, 39, of Timmins, Ontario, has been charged with:
– Fail to Appear in Court contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was held in police custody and had the benefit of a bail hearing where he was released from custody but must attend Provincial Court in Timmins on November 19th to answer to the charges laid against him.
