As a precautionary measure, a “Hold and Secure” was initiated at the request of the Timmins Police Service at a number of schools in the immediate area.

This measure has proven to be no longer necessary.
A thorough search of the area was completed by the responding Timmins Police Service officers.

This incident remains an open investigation with the Timmins Police Service and anyone with viable information is asked to call the Timmins Police Service at 705-264-1201 or to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or by using www.p3tips.com
While statutory provisions allow for the safe and responsible transportation of firearms, there is a reasonable expectation that individuals doing so will engage in such transport with discretion realizing that a public display of a firearm is likely to inspire alarm for the general public.
