**TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE NEWS RELEASE**


The Timmins Police Service arrested a local resident yesterday on the strength of an Arrest Warrant for Theft Under $5000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime issued by the Provincial Court in Timmins
While on patrol of the downtown core of Timmins, a Timmins Police Service officer recognized a male person as being a wanted person.

The Timmins Police Service officer interviewed the person who proceeded to provide a false name to the police.
The man was arrested after the validity of the Arrest Warrant was confirmed by Timmins Police dispatch personnel.
As a result, Brandon ROY, 26, of Timmins was taken into police custody and has been charged with:
– Personation With Intent to Avoid Arrest contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
– 2 counts of Fail to comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins where he will answer to the original charges as well as the new charges laid against him.
