Le Centre Culturel La Ronde’s annual Winter Carnival, is taking over Timmins this weekend!

“This year we have four major events and we have the bonhomme (Carnival Mascot) that’s going to be going around the city and taking part in the store front business window competitions. We have the wine and food pairing event which took place yesterday. On the weekend, we partnered up with the BIA. So, there’s going to be a road closure downtown, they’re going to have a winter food market, there’s going to be Beaver Tails, and they’re going to have dog demonstrations for dog sledding.” Lisa Bertrand Directrice Général La Ronde.

Bertrand went on to add, that there will be activities for kids starting at 10am on Saturday and that the ball hockey tournament at Full Beard Brewing will be taking place from 8am-5pm, and that there will be a fire set up so that people can stay warm and even cook marshmallows.

This is the first week of events for the annual Winter Carnival; Week two will take place from Monday February 24 to Saturday February 29. To see next week’s events you can visit larondetimmins.ca
