**PORCUPINE HEALTH UNIT NEWS RELEASE**


Daily COVID-19 Update for Thursday, April 30, 2020

The Porcupine Health Unit is reporting 1 new COVID-19 case among residents in the health unit area. The current number of confirmed positive cases is now 60.

The new case is a female in her 40s from the Timmins area and is a contact of a case. She is currently at home in self-isolation. For more information, visit phu.fyi/coronavirus.

As of last Friday, the PHU area had a total of 58 cases of COVID-19. Of these, 47% were male and 53% female. The breakdown of the cases by age groups is 3.4% for ages 19 and under; 20.7% for ages 20 to 39; 27.6% for ages 40-59; 37.9% 60-79; and 10.3% for ages 80 and over. Almost half (48.2%) of individuals with COVID-19 were aged 60 and over.
