**PORCUPINE HEALTH UNIT NEWS RELEASE**

There have been no new positive cases in the Porcupine Health Unit (PHU) area since May 10, 2020. The total number of confirmed positive cases is 65, 1 of which remains active.

If you are beginning to plan for a summer vacation, the health unit is encouraging people to stay close to home. If you decide to travel, be prepared for new requirements like health checks and face coverings on planes or the reduced number of seats available on passenger buses to help allow for physical distancing. You may also be subject to additional provincial or territorial public health measures at your final destination so be aware of the local situation and follow local public health advice. For more information, visit the Government of Canada’s page on travel.

Any PHU resident who feels they need a test for COVID-19, even if they don’t have symptoms, can go for testing at an assessment centre. Call your health care provider or the health unit to access testing.

Continue with measures like physical distancing, wearing a face covering where physical distancing may be challenging, frequent handwashing and staying home when you are sick.

Our COVID-19 Information line is open today from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Call the toll-free number, 1-800-461-1818, or the PHU office in your community. See our offices page for local contact numbers.

Stay home if you are not well. Stay safe. Stay positive!
