**PORCUPINE HEALTH UNIT NEWS RELEASE**

DAILY COVID-19 UPDATE FOR WEDNESDAY, JUNE 10, 2020

There have been no new positive cases in the Porcupine Health Unit (PHU) area since May 10, 2020. The total number of confirmed positive cases is 65, 1 of which remains active. For more information, see phu.fyi/coronavirus.

As of last Friday, more tests are being completed in the PHU area compared to the rate for the province of Ontario. For specifics, refer to this week’s epidemiology update on our website: https://phu.fyi/covid-report.

Yesterday, the Ontario government announced its plan to reopen childcare centres across the province to support the next stage of the province’s reopening framework. The plan will require childcare operators to follow strict health protocols to ensure the safety of childcare staff and children. The PHU advises all residents to continue the public health measures that contributed to this good news. If you are spending time with people outside your household, do it safely: keep 2 metres between yourself and others, or wear a mask where that’s not possible. If you’re sick, please don’t visit and call to get tested. Use proper coughing and sneezing etiquette, wash your hands often, use hand sanitizer, and do not touch your face.

Our COVID-19 Information line is open today from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Call the toll-free number, 1-800-461-1818, or the PHU office in your community. See phu.fyi/offices for local contact numbers.

Stay home if you have symptoms. Stay safe.
