The Timmins Rock signed two players over the weekend. They’ve received commitment from Forward Gabby Kioki and have signed 17 year-old Henry Brock.

Brock, is a six-foot tall center from Port Perry Ontario, and is an OHL prospect. He was drafted in the third round 44th overall in the Under 18 Priority Selection Draft by the Soo-GreyHounds. Last season, he played for the Ajax-Pickering U18 AAA club and had a productive season. He recorded 25 points in 34 games played (13 goals, 12 assists).

We spoke with Timmins Rock Head Coach Corey Beer to find out what kind of player Henry is, and what he brings to the table.

Gabby Kioki is a hometown boy and had a pretty good first season with the team. He put up 22 points in 27 games played. Six of those 27 games were with the Powassan Voodoos.

Kioki, had the chance to play on the big lines last year. Now with a few veteran guys out of the line up, there’s a good chance that his playing time on the top two lines will increase.

We still don’t know if there’s going to be a season, but right now it looks like the Rock are gearing up for another good regular season, a deep playoff run, and maybe even a NOJHL title.
