On what would have been the innovative guitarist’s 66th birthday (Jan 26th, 2021), a new mural to honour Eddie Van Halen has been shared. Painted by LA artist Robert Vargas on the outside wall of Guitar Center’s Sunset Boulevard store in Hollywood, it depicts Eddie Van Halen doing what he loved: playing his guitar. It is titled “Long Live The King”.

Earlier this month, a new line of guitars was announced in Eddie’s name to be released under his company: EVH. A total of 9 guitars which are a reimagined design of the popular 5150 series. These new guitars have been designed with the budding guitar genius in mind, built for speed and comfort while supporting Van Halen’s signature “tapping” technique. Apparently there’s a little something for everyone in both colour and price too.

Eddie’s absence is still felt by family, friends, and fans across the globe. Many are paying their respects to him on his birthday as well in their own way, giving heartfelt messages of love and loss. RIP Eddie, you are missed.
