The late Eric Carr (AKA The Fox), former drummer to KISS and all around good guy, is getting an updated documentary. His family are the ones behind it too, so it’s going to be stock full of behind the scenes materials that you’ve probably never seen before.

Eric Carr replaced Peter Criss in KISS in 1980. He made his recording debut on 1981’s ‘The Elder’ album, and his last album was God Gave Rock And Roll To You II. He died on November 24, 1991 (Yes, the same day as Queen icon Freddie Mercury) of a rare heart cancer when he was 41. His death was unexpected and a bit of a shock to the rest of the band, even controversial in a way. Just listen to an excerpt from Paul Stanley’s book Face the Music: A Life Exposed.

Although things got messy at the end, Carr was always well-loved by the rest of the band. He was a positive influence on KISS at the time and brought with him ‘a breath of fresh air’ that the rest of the band both appreciated and sorely needed. If you’re a fan of Carr, the previous documentary that was released in 2000 called Tale Of The Fox didn’t do him justice, with one fan even saying, “I was shocked that there was not a note of Kiss music and Kulick was the only Kiss member to appear. This is only for hardcore Carr fans.”

Gene Simmons shared on the 20th anniversary of his death back in 2011 that, “I never knew anyone more humble in my life. Eric Carr was a kind soul who never said anything bad about anybody. He was also a double threat on drums, and vocals. I miss him.” This new documentary is still in the works so a release date hasn’t been confirmed yet (as of April 19th, 2021), and the title has not been revealed.
