Pearl Jam has disclosed details about their initial performances for 2024, marking their presence as headliners at the Mad Cool Festival in Madrid on July 11 and the NOS Alive Festival in Lisbon two days later. The renowned Seattle band is gearing up for an extensive tour in the coming year to support their yet-to-be-named 12th studio album, anticipated to launch prior to their tour commencement.

The Mad Cool Festival lineup, where Pearl Jam will be the focal point, includes an array of diverse acts such as Dua Lipa, Smashing Pumpkins, Garbage, Janelle Monáe, Michael Kiwanuka, Black Pumas, Jessie Ware, Tom Morello, the Breeders, Gaslight Anthem, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and Bring Me the Horizon. Many of these artists are set to grace the stage at the NOS Alive Festival as well, with the addition of Khruangbin and Floating Points.

As fans eagerly await further information about the upcoming album produced by Andrew Watt, a successor to 2020’s Gigaton, they can indulge in the annual 10 Days of Pearl Jam countdown on the band’s website. This online event will showcase rare performances from the band’s archive. The inaugural release is a rendition of “MFC” from October 22, 2000, in Las Vegas, commemorating the band’s 10th anniversary.

Guitarist Mike McCready, speaking to SPIN in September, provided insight into the upcoming record, expressing admiration for drummer Matt Cameron’s extraordinary skills. McCready revealed that Cameron’s drumming has reached new heights on the forthcoming album, attributing the heightened energy to producer Andrew Watt’s enthusiasm and encouragement during the recording process. McCready highlighted the collaborative dynamic within the band, emphasizing their unique ability to generate a multitude of creative ideas.
